ReplyDeleteCalatrava....? ah ah ah......!
ReplyDeleteI really dislike Zaha Hadid as an architect (just as I dislike her attitude). I find her work overwhelming, in a somehow menacing way... overstated, annoying modernist and organic with absolutely no warmth. It always creeps me out to see that one of her creations was built here. It's like it was shaped by some depressed force of nature or a b...witch in a dark room packed with grief in the middle of a hellhole.

ReplyDeleteDidn't her fire station never got used because it was un-practical? The client buid an other some time after, making zaha's useless.

ReplyDeleteIf I design this when I was at University doing architecture, I'd of got a fail. Great animation, but the design is just awful. Where's the sole of the building?
ReplyDeleteI'll let Frank Lloyd Wright say the rest.
"Only because people now live in the machine age, doesn't mean that their houses should have to look as machines. The modernism buildings are cardboard buildings; mechanical, artificially and soleless."

ReplyDeleteHAHA, at the end, were it showed the city at night, there wasn't a reflection of the building in the water! jk. I liked the video anyway, looked real!
ReplyDeletevery good animation, amazing, love it...

ReplyDeletewhat is your profession besides a talker architecture is a great art is not only building houses and desing boring places this animation is one of the best in you tube. congratulations to those who made it
Nice ONe
ReplyDeleteBuilding is not stupid. There is such a thing as building code. And if the building has this particular base it means that it was planned like that. There are a lot of factors: solar analysis, wind, noise, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnimation rocks! Shows the process and the affect of the building on the site and vice versa!
-yasini-
ReplyDeleteYou obviously know nothing about architecture, if every building in the world completely maximized the available space, we would live in a rectilinear, boring, rectangle-world, with far too much building space on our hands.
WOW!! Sick animation!
ReplyDeleteprograms used ?
and yea i agree about the building structure.
lol, naysayer! FLW's carnagie museum had a load of bash that didnt sway the project. Also Mies VavDer Rohs Seagrams building. The point being pedestrian space below the structure is maleable for mixed use and traffic.
ReplyDeletethat building is just stupid.
ReplyDeleteYou could make much more of than land, half of that site is empty.
Just seems stupid.
Awesome Video, thumbs up
ReplyDeleteJust a question: can you download mirage studio 7 or do you have to buy the whole program?
Thanks
